Alessio Fasano ‘Corrects’ the Functional Medicine Popular Fads on Gluten

November 30, 2021 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Event of the year, Alessio Fasano of Harvard, the most quoted gluten scientist, is going to get the chance to ‘correct’ the misinterpretations on his position that people are bandying about in functional medicine circles all the way from the Institute of Functional Medicine to Functional Medicine University and everything in between. Fasano has NOT changed his position, he has been misunderstood whether accidentally or deliberately by people selling courses and training on gluten fads…

It was me at Functional Medicine Training .org who has forced this event, by first objecting to Tom O’Bryan’s October 2020 lecture misquoting Fasano, then formally objecting 6 months later when FMU allowed a repeat of the lecture where we were being hit over the head with ‘my friend Fasano says xyz, he is important, you do not belong here if you don’t agree’, so Fasano has stated that is not his position, gluten has very little clinical relevance for the majority of the population…there is no such thing as ‘loss of oral tolerance with every bite’ etc, so of course this should not be so low key, there should have been corrective lectures over the year of the misinformation – but ultimately it’s not just ‘big pharma’ bent on making money in this game, is it 😉
