Treating Pain Disorders with Cannabis

Pain management is currently therapeutically limited, particularly for chronic pain.
Anticonvulsants, antidepressants and selective serotonin noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors are usedwith limited effectiveness. The potent opiate drugs are common and effective against some types of moderate to severe pain. However, they are
replete with multiple issues, including tolerance, withdrawal, and addiction calamities that have reached unacceptable societal costs. Cannabis has come to light as a rather effective alternative treatment for a variety of types of pain. However, it is rife with political issues and misunderstandings about how it works and dosage issues. We will review the MOAs, indications, types of  preparations, dosages and safety in the treatment of pain by Cannabis preparations.
